Hi! I'm Rachel and I am the wizard behind the curtain at Sparkle & Pop. I've been into crafting and creative things since I was a little girl. I used to sew my own Barbie doll clothes from scratch (poor Barbie was used to being so fashionable). I can remember making plastic beaded bracelets at my 8th birthday party. I remember making homemade cards with my mom. My sisters and I were really into polymer clay jewelry and figures for awhile. Highschool was when I first started making candles, when my family lived overseas. We used to melt down emergency candles and turn them into fun and colorful pillar candles instead. Much more fun for when the electricity (frequently) went out. I made my first scrapbook shortly after I got married. Every Christmas family and friends get homemade gifts from me. And the list goes on and on!
In the Fall of 2012, after being told for years that I should sell the things I make, I finally opened up an Etsy shop. I want to share my creativity with others, while making a little bit of extra income to help provide for my family. I'm thankful for the avenue that Etsy provides to sell my creative wares, and for all the training and support offered in the Etsy community. But it actually wasn't until May of 2013, after getting a few sales under my belt and lots of good advice, that Sparkle & Pop was born.
Sparkle & Pop really encompasses the vibe of all the things I make and sell. I love to work with anything shiny and fun. What you won't find at Sparkle & Pop is the same thing all the time. I like to keep it fresh and interesting. Plus I can't sit still long enough to make hundreds of the same item! You'll want to check back often to see what colorful materials I'm currently working with; what sparkling goodies I've got for sale.
The inspiration for what goes into my shop comes from many sources. The beauty of Florida, where my family lived for the past 4 years, really inspires me every single day. I love the beauty of the beaches and palm trees as well as the buildings and the city. The military moved my family to Washington, DC, where I know I'll find plenty of inspiration as well. I'm also inspired by each new season of life. My toddler keeps me on my toes! She has inspired me to make things for her and her little friends, as well as colorful goodies to share with my Etsy customers. My goal is always to channel what inspires me into creating things that you can buy for yourself or that make great gifts that you can't find in your local stuff mart.
I also pride myself on my customer service. Prior to becoming a stay at home mom, I worked for several companies who are some of the best in customer service, and that training has proved invaluable. If you ever have a question or concern, I will work with you and try my best to make you a satisfied customer. I also like to do custom item requests and am happy to work with you on that as well.
That's the story of Sparkle & Pop so far. I hope you'll visit often. I'd love to get to know you, too! Join me on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sparkleandpop and be the first to know about events, discounts and sneak peeks!
